Does Higher Education Produce Web Professionalism? →
Very interesting and must-read article for those seeking to explore the Web industry in college. Is a formal education really needed to be successful in the career? While I didn’t necessarily study the medium in college, most of what I’ve learned I can attribute nearly all of to the Web community and sheer inquisitiveness but I still think the experience of college is valuable.

Now on iPhone/iPod Touch
Following Matthew’s tutorial in creating an ‘iPhone version Tumblr page’, now you can view and read my senseless postings from the comfort of your mobile device. When you visit the site, you’ll automatically get redirected to mobile version or I should say iPhone and iPod Touch version. Nothing to elaborate at the moment.

Shawn Johnson Bikini Photos →
The young athlete was highly respected for her skills in the Beijing Olympics with balletic performances that showcased her athletic physiques and now even more with a few leaked photos of her that highlight her body outside of competition. You have to consider that she’s only 16 but her dedication is infinite.

D90 from Nikon: Now record HD movies →
If you’re a photo enthusiast, then you might have already become aware of Nikon’s introduction of the first DSLR to incorporate shooting HD movie clips.
At first I was a little skeptical about the photography/movie combination because when you integrate to distinct mediums, it generally compromises the quality of one, but it’s a feature that I would be willing to accept as I...

I enjoy reading about what specific tools designers are using in the industry nowadays so as to gauge what opportunities I may have in approaching a project. The first piece of software that I was introduced to in college for web design was Barebones’ BBedit. Very straightforward HTML editor for the Mac that I explored in depth and have utilized ever since and that’s what I’ve...

Here Comes Kindle 2.0 →
“Sources say the new version is significantly thinner, has a better screen, is more stylish and includes fixes to some of the user interface annoyances with the first version. One person that has seen the device says it is as big a leap from its predecessor as the iPod mini was from the first iPod”.

The incredible ease in purchasing music on iTunes is only half the joy in going a little overboard sometimes with downloading tracks for me but the reward is also set forth with the amount of tunes at your disposal. Music that you may have never considered buying if you were to walk down the music aisle at Walmart. Lately I’ve been piling up nothing but movie soundtracks. Latest two...

Gogo: Inflight Internet Service →
If the movie they offer is as bad as the food, now you’ll be able to kill time and enjoy surfing the web on a few major airlines (AA, Virgin America & Delta) that have announced implementing Gogo internet services in their fights. I love the idea and even more the fact that they don’t advertise the service as “free Wi-Fi” as other companies do and in the end, still...

Size does matter ... but retailers confuse... →
For customers, “a size tag is more than a number; it relates to how people see themselves.” Working in the industry, I’ve heard a lot of feedback from customers stating that certain sizes seem to be fitting bigger than normal, so they willingly go down a size to accommodate the weight that they may or may have not lost.

Shawn finally wins gold →
Shawn Johnson arrived in Beijing as gymnastics’ “it” girl, the reigning world champion who had lost only one event in the past two years. It wasn’t so much a question of whether should would be able to bring home gold for the US, but just how many and in which competition but last night she won gold on the balancing beam event and well deserved.
It’s a shame that...

Webber or Webbie
Based on random conversations with friends regarding anything having to do with the web, I’ve come to classified myself as a geek or “more web-savvy than others” as a friend put it. Specifically within my own circle and not so much the online community that I participate in. If you’re the type of person that uses online services such as Twitter, Basecamp, Delicious or has...

Dear retail associate
Assuming that you pay attention to the news, I’m sure you understand the unsettling condition that we have been experiencing with the economy. All major retailer, probably the company that you’re currently employed with too, have released their earning statements and the results have not been that promising, so I would think that any customers that you do have coming in to your store...

New 'Checkpoint Friendly' Laptop Bag Procedures →
New airline guidelines starting August 16, will spare passengers the hassle of tossing their bare laptops into a plastic bin when entering security checkpoint and instead, they’ll be providing you with a certain type of bag or sleeve for better protection. If I owned an IBM or Dell then I would want to hide that thing but having to take out my MBP doesn’t bother me, regardless of the...

Tropic Thunder ★ ★ ½
So far the film has been dubbed one of the funniest outings of the summer but to me the expectations didn’t live up to the hype. The best moments of a film are often featured in the promotional trailer and this film is a perfect example of it. With directing films such as Zoolander and The Cable Guy, you would think Stiller would just stick to acting, where he tends to be funny at times.

Organizing iTunes
Vanessa and I both share the entire music library on the MBP. We both have our own particular taste with music but regardless of what we listen to, one thing is for sure; our library will only get larger and larger and it can become unmanageable if you don’t tame that beast right away.

Pineapple Express ★ ★ ★ ½
The most surprising thing about the film is not the amount of weed smoked by the movie’s leads, or the number of bad guys they take out, but how with all this action, the movie still fails to deliver full closure in the plot and leaving loose ends. The film was relatively enjoyable but not as nearly memorable as Superbad. If you were to trim 20-30 minutes of footage, the...

2008 Olympics
In Chinese culture, the number 8 is considered more lucky than the number 7, and the people will go out of their way to choose this number over anything else. Not surprisingly, 88 is twice as lucky, and the more 8s you have present, the more fortunate you’ll be in life, so there’s no coincidence that the Olympic opening ceremony was chosen to take place today on 8-8-08.

What’s Up With Batman’s Voice in ‘The Dark... →
In comparison to the first Batman films that we’ve all seen, enjoyed and admired, The Dark Knight franchise has taken the superhero to a whole new level that requires respect. But one thing I still haven’t accepted about the film is Batman’s voice. Frankly, it’s distracting and apparently I’m not the only one who’s taken notice.

So You Think You Can Dance Tour
The great thing about the show is that you don’t have to necessarily be a dancer to enjoy all the entertainment. I’ve been following this season religiously every week. The top 10 dancers will go on tour beginning in September. If you love the show, you won’t want to miss seeing the tour when it comes to your city. I know I’ll be there and now you can too.
