A photographer without a vision is simply a mathematician. Yet, a photographer who has a vision cannot release it without a knowledge of technicalities. Photography is technical as much as it is artistic, but both sides must be both fully understood to create memorable images.

There’s still a few months to go before the iPad is released but if you’re eager for having that same look on your iPhone/iPod Touch, the folks at Redmond Pie have created a theme via Cydia that replicates the same iPad UI.

Aside from activating the Simple iPad Theme, it’s also recommending installing another hack called Shrink App, which will reduce the size of your icons. This helps to provide the more spaced out layout as seen on the iPad.
The options to reduce the size of icons with Shrink App is available in Settings once installed. I’ve set mine to 80%.
Blogging is all about doing what you love, forget the rest. You blog because you love it, not because you want it as your career, or because Google Adsense might make you rich. It’s like being a rock star, but less cool, and no one knows you.

Today is my 29th birthday. Some would see this as a sign of being stressed because they’re getting (and looking) older while others would simply more grateful for the opportunity in having another year of life.
I lean towards the latter train of thought largely in part because of my lovely wife, family and friends that enrich me everyday and make me feel opposite of what my age may signify. (Photograph by The Rainbow)
My favorite birthday quote from an unknown author:
“Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had, and what you’ve learned from them, and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.”
I’m not fearful of growing older. I’m more excited that I have someone in my life to grow older with.
My wife and I have plans to redecorate a few rooms in the house this year and one task I fully took over was in choosing how to display some of our travel photos. Carefully aligned frames is always good but I’m searching for something more distinct and equally appealing as some of the photos we have in mind.
One alternative I’ve been exploring has been with a service called Fotoflot, which offers an innovative way to display one’s photographs without glass. They print your photos on paper, then bond that to a piece of acrylic.

The sizes of FotoFlot displays range from 7.5”x10” to 15”x30”, and they hang with a simple mounting system, in which you put part of the bracket on the wall, then attach the photo with magnets. Very much like the shelves you see in IKEA showrooms, the effect of your photographs floating right off the wall is a pretty polished look.

What’s also convenient is that if you’re in the mood for showcasing a different print, you simply swap the mounted one with a new print. Also noteworthy is stating that all this doesn’t come at low priced but if you’re in the market for something unique, I think this is worth the investment.
