Reflecting on Sin City
So I’m now just starting to get adjusted back to our time zone here in New York after a 4 day trip to Las Vegas. I’m not much of a gambler and neither is Vanessa so we never really had legitimate intentions to visit the city but I would be doing a disservice to you if I failed to mentioned that Las Vegas is not just for gamblers anymore.
To truly enjoy the Sin City, one would have to spend a at least 10 solid days to experience and appreciate all that it has to offer. Exploring one hotel alone can consume much of your day but if you’re only going to spend 2 or 3 days, try and see the most popular attractions. Rather that continue with endless option as to what to do, I’ve compiled a list of observations and facts regarding Vegas.
- Your first encounter with slot machines will happen as you soon as you exit the plane.
- Pack comfortable sneakers and be prepared to walk a lot.
- Rent a car for a day to visit outside attractions like Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire, etc. Doing so is cheaper than embarking upon bus tours being offered. Compact car via Enterprise was $29 for one day.
- Don’t feel strange when guys skillfully flick hooker business cards to you on the strip. I took a couple as souvenirs.
- A lot of overweight people throughout the city.
- A lot of homeless and crackheads come out at night. Nothing too serious though.
- Souvenirs are expensive everywhere so might as well buy them when you see them.
- Feels good to walk down the street with a beer bottle and not getting ticketed.
- The airport is very well structured an organized. Employees are not rude at all in comparison to New York.
- Expect to wake up to 85 degree weather every day so dress accordingly.
- Take advantage of coupon booklet given to you at your hotel because it comes it handy for purchased on shows, dinners and souvenirs around the city.
