Wedding Planning
It’s any women’s dream to have the wedding they’ve always envision and ever since Vanessa and I got engaged, there’s one aspects about the entire planning that we’ve unanimously agreed upon and that is not to get into enormous debt with the entire celebration. Weddings can be very expensive for everyone involved, in fact, the latest surveys show that the average cost of a wedding is now close to $28,000. I’m all for commemorating this next stage in our lives, but we’re both the type of people that would rather splurge on the honeymoon instead.
We currently have other expenses dwindling away that were brought upon when we moved in together so the estimated date for the wedding would be around Summer 2009. As for the actual planning, it really all comes down to priorities for us. For some people, the invitations is the most important element to them, so it makes sense to spend $1,000 on fancy designer invites but in essence, depending on what parts of the wedding one sees as most important, that really allows someone to focus the money on things that really matter, and save on other areas.
But when it comes down to it’s actually the number of people that attend a wedding that will have the greatest impact on the total cost. More guests equates to more food and drinks, a larger church or reception hall, larger wedding cake, and even more invitations. So much to consider at the moment.
