1. Do Something About It

We all have to work in life to make up for our basic essentials. There’s simply no way around it unless you were born into an opulent family, then you may not have to exert yourself as much as the rest of the public. If half the people in the world stopped performing their current job on the basis that they’re not ‘passionate’ about it, the entire workforce would come to a halt.

We all aspire to be well established financially by the time we hit adulthood along with a great job that reinforces and justifies that large paycheck but sometimes we only get half the deal. You either have a great paying job that you regard with distaste, or vice versa and the idea to remedy the situation lingers as just a thought with no actions. Michael puts it perfectly:

There are more people doing the things they love as hobbies rather than jobs. I have nothing against having hobbies, but it’s ironic that the things that people willingly put time and effort into are the things they do for pure satisfaction. For free. The money I’d pay for employees with that kind of drive…
Jack Cheng illustrated this whole concept of “doing something you love” quite nicely and wrapped it up as blunt as possible.
If you have a shit job, come up with new ways to learn something out of it. If you have a hobby you’re super-excited about, try to turn it into a business. If you’re just starting a new gig, instill it with something you’re passionate about.
